returning

back to home 🏠

we are made up of water and when we die we return to the ground and to the water. with ashes being scattered into the ocean, lakes, streams, we will always find our way back to water. we will become one with water as we disolve into the body of water. water nourish us, washes us out, cleans us, passes through us to which we return back to. when faced with scenes of death although morbid and depressing it reminds me of the value of life, the present and my accomplishments.

Dead birds in particular have an omnipotent power and for the superstitious its hard to not look into. Before I begun my VCE years i saw 10 dead birds in a month, including one landing on my doorstep, at the time I documented, to this day i have had multiple conversations on the power and meaning of seeing dead birds. for the first time since i saw multiple dead birds whilst taking this class reflecting on the same ideas and mindset to when i was beginning my final highschool and childhood year.

In this scenario from the website “dead bird meaning; read this when you find one!” sites a variety of different spirtual context and traditions like native american perspectives on dead birds. in this article all locations of the bird and the types of bird is considered in to what message is trying to be told to you. In all occasions it signified tranformation and entering a new stage of life. finishing high school and one of my first classes of my final year of my bachelors degree display similarities and the presence of the birds brings me back to those connections allowing me to reflect on my direction in the world.

on Breathing

I find when I return to nature my breath becomes calmer and my mind is a little less fogged. My breathe finds a steadier rhythm and allows me to slow down.

How the grass like snow leaves a trail of our weight.

My footsteps are more considered and my fingers look for more intense sensations. There is a hum and a gentle buzz that seems to envelop the air and reduces any stress or thought. Even the slightest hint of grass or growth, can overpower the largest of train horns or concrete echoes.

returning once more

In the cycle of life, birth and death are profound transitions, entwined with the elements of nature. Born from the womb of water, we emerge into the world, infused with its fluidity, symbolizing purity and renewal. Throughout our existence, we tread the path of earthly existence, our bodies akin to vessels, carrying the essence of life itself. In death, we return to the embrace of the earth, merging with the soil and dirt, becoming one with the very ground from which life springs anew. Thus, in our passing, we complete the circle, embodying the eternal dance of creation and dissolution.
